Project, Planning & Process
How long does a home build or renovation usually take?
A standard new build can take approximately 6-12 months, depending on size, complexity and approvals. Renovations vary but usually range from 3-6 months and are dependent on size and complexity. At Xentra Australia, we ensure to provide a tailored timeline and plan before each project begins.
What approvals or permits do I need before starting construction?
You may need Development Approval (DA) or a Complying Development Certificate (CDC), depending on your project type and the local council regulations. Our team at Xentra Australia will assist with navigating the approval process for your project from start to finish.
How much will my build or renovation cost?
Costs will vary based on materials, size, location and scope. Our team provides transparent quotes after a detailed consultation and site assessment, and will work with you to align your project with your budget.
Can I live in my home during the renovation?
It depends on the scope of work and the safety factors. For minor renovations, it may be possible to stay, however this will be discussed with you at the initial consultation. For larger or structural works, vacating the property is recommended.
What happens if there are delays in the project?
Delays may occur due to weather, supplier issues, or unforeseen site conditions. Our team at Xentra Australia will be sure to keep you updated every step of the way and will work proactively to minimise downtime and delays.
What's the first step to getting started with a building project?
The first step is to book a consultation with us. Our experienced team at Xentra Australia will discuss your ideas, budget and timeline, and will assess your site (if applicable), guiding you through every step of the way. Our team will ensure to explain necessary approvals, design options, and timelines to set foundations for a clear, realistic plan before construction begins.

Absolutely. Our team at Xentra Australia works with you to bring your vision to life. Our team is flexible and experienced in custom builds and will work with your vision to ensure it aligns with your lifestyle, preferences and budget.
What materials do you recommend for durability and style?
We recommend materials that balance durability, climate suitability and visual appeal - such as brick veneer, rendered finishes, engineered timber and stone. At Xentra Australia, we tailor selections to your goals and budget.
Do you offer energy-efficient or sustainable building options?
At Xentra Australia, we can incorporate solar systems, passive design principles, double-glazed windows, and other eco-friendly features to improve energy efficiency and reduce long term costs.
